Welcome back BSD

Published Date: 2018/03/13 by: DaVieS

Finally I can introduce nPulse.net is running on FreeBSD again.
Two years ago we have forced a little bit into linux I mean Debian. It was awesome, linux-based oses are great and "seems" fast but messy and buggy, and not fast.

Developing to linux is easier than BSD since BSD more behind linux with "hardware compatibility" BSD is always need a bit more time, but its more reliable when it gets a simple task. Simple task well, running websites, hundreds of backends, database, ftp, mailing, ... These are "simple" to BSD, but you should not running hypervisor on BSD yet. But Jails are awesome for now in time of "docker, container" world.

nPulse.net is on the latest packages with self-patches, forged from www.freshports.org
What does that means?

- Switchable PHP (5.6,7.0,7.1,7.2)
- MariaDB 102
- Latest: Postfix, Dovecot, PowerDNS ..

Given the growing vulnerabilities against Linux-Based OS, it was time to drop and switch back to BSD. We are using BSD since 2009.

Reinforced Security
Our systems have been upgraded to use DNSSEC/TwoFactor Authentication as well and many other tools to prevent any break-in-attempts .
Its important because see the latest threats many exploits came out within a short period and these are just a 'public' ones.
